Efi advice needed.

Post by Eternal Optimist »

I’ve got a 1776 built up and I’ll be using Mexican efi kit on it. I’ve been planning this for a long time, just looked at the receipt for the Megasquirt ECU kit and it’s dated May 2013. It’s a MS1 v3 kit which is now obsolete.

I’m planning on using Ford EDIS which I don’t think is supported by MS1 v3.

I don’t mind soldering, so kits are OK and I don’t mind buying something built up.

What’s the current thinking around ECU choice?

Blimey, it’s gone a bit quiet on here. It’s a few years since I was a regular, but what’s happened? Has Facebook taken traffic away from the forum?

Keep the faith, its still good.
I'm not sure how many of us know about efi kit.

It's the old school version on here.

FB has taken a lot of traffic off all forums. But as there's no search function you get the same questions over and over.

Qualify not quantity here ;-)

If you're happy to self build again, megasquiirt has all the features, and in some cases more, then the other brands.

Definitely go full EFI though and include ignition control.

PS I think megasquiirt is the only one that understands logarithmic TPS signals.
