Hello Neil,

I remember years ago trying to find a water tank and searched high and low, eventually found one from a very kind person from the SSVC.
This is some info I found on "the samba" which could be beneficial to you, ( worth searching yourself for more there is a lot on there ) as far as I can remember but I'm no expert on this Inca plastics used to make them for 66 to 67 models and used to make replacements a few years ago something I considered myself.
hope this was of some use ?
Frank

Water tank dimensions are courtesy of M. Woody:

This is what I sent to Inca Plastics:

I am in the process of restoring a 1967 VW Camper. Old literature mentioned Inca plastics as the producer of the water tanks used for these models. I am attaching pictures of an original tank and am wanting to have one of your new tanks modified. It appears your model 10 is the tank that was used:

http://www.incaplastics.com/w10/10.htm is the one in my Camper. I am needing a drain, water inlet and vent added.

Here are the measurements:

27X15X4.75

Front the top, the fill/vent is 1.5 O.C. from the left side of the tank, set
back 1.75" o.c. from the "front" of the tank. Fill is 1-3/16" O.D.

Drain is centered on the bottom, and threaded for 3/8 FPT. with a simple
ball valve.

The water intake for the pump is centered 6.75" o.c. from the left edge and
set back 1.75" o.c. from the "front" of the tank. It has a brass fitting
with a washer and a piece of rigid plastic pipe that extends from a barbed
fitting down into the bottom of the tank. On the other side of the fitting
is a black plastic barbed 90 degree elbow that the hose connects to.
