Heating

Post by jackricha » Sun Mar 08, 2020 2:28 pm

I would like to drive a bit more in the winter months, currently no method for heating the van.

Heat exchangers are gone, I did buy a propex a few years ago but sold it as i was a bit worried about the carbon monoxide and the pressurised gas cans.

Does anyone have an idea that might work, at the moment it’s just more clothing 😂

Fit a petrol heater. IMHO much better.

Petrol is cheaper than gas to use.
You never wake up and have used all the gas over night so nothing to cook with.

Eddy does a roaring trade in gas after a cold night at Vic Farm, so some people do

Webasto or Eberspacher, get a petrol version that can tap straight from your fuel tank.

As toasty as you need and reasonably economical - easy to instal.

I’m running an Ebersoacher B1L (B for benzine, or petrol as we call it)

Works great, bit noisy, but so is a calor lamp - all adds to the atmosphere !

Not sure how old it is but it was made in West Germany....

You can get them serviced. That might make it quieter.
