Wanted. Devon Caravette water tank

Post by cavendish » Fri Nov 29, 2019 9:16 am

This is probably a long shot but I am trying to find an original water tank for my 1963 VW Devon caravette as it did have one originally fitted and the holes for the water tank hoses are in the floor behind the bulkhead still. I have the sink etc but no tank and I am trying to get my bus back to how it would have been originally.
As I said a long shot but you never know.
Thanks.
Steve

They are I guess quite easy to replicate once you find someone who will loan you his.
Try Graham, typetwo on here I think, he is the Devon man, he would be able to help..

Thanks Ron. As Graham has already said we are in conversation about this but he keeps overloading my miniscure brain by giving me lots of useful information about my bus lol.
Joking apart he is a really GREAT guy but dont tell him I said that or it will go to his head.
Thanks
Steve

I have a water storage unit that came out of a vw.

Could be the one your looking for !

If you have a picture of what your looking for I'll be able to tell you if it's the one I've got.

Don't ask for pictures as I'm in Australia until the new year and the description would be it's whit plastic rectangle. But I'll know it if I see it.

Hi Jason.

Thanks for the reply but definately not what I am after as Ron said they were made out of steel and not plastic.
Thanks anyway and enjoy your time away.

Yours is from a Bay window model, I looked at your pics when you posted them in 2017! I have resurrected with reply! It even has a VW part number on it and says Campmobile. It comes out of a tall fixed unit with the corner cut off for the hand pump and connected to the outlet from the base ..
This would fit a westy style unit?
