1967 T2 split screen for sale

For sale a 1967 German built, factory right hand drive, 13 window deluxe VW T2 Split screen campervan. Described by Volksworld magazine as “one of the nicest on the planet” £62,950

The bus was featured on the front cover of the August 2017 edition of Volksworld magazine, which included a seven page feature and a centre fold poster of the bus.

Prior to the Splitty having a full no expense spared nut and bolt restoration,
the bus spent its life in the dry climate of southern Thailand.
The bus was purchased in Thailand then shipped to the UK in 2008.
Due to the fact the Splitty was in an amazing rust free condition, and drove faultlessly, it was the perfect candidate to build a show winning bus.

The restoration of the bus was carried out by the exceptional craftsmen at Pitt Lane classic car restoration in Winchester UK. They completed the full body and show quality paint restoration on the bus, finishing it off in lovely original VW T2 colour of L31 Dove Blue.

The door cards and side panels are in a traditional deluxe style, with chrome strips, also fully re-manufactured and finished to perfection.
Lying beneath this stunning factory style interior the bus has been fully modernised with the addition of dynomat sound proofing insulation.

The seating and rock and roll bed have been upholstered with soft luxury leather in a pleasing cranberry shade. Bespoke English oak units are fitted to one side of the vehicle which also comprises a fridge which can be run of the leisure battery or 240v AC through the electric hook up (in engine compartment)

All the cabin windows have roll up blinds held in position by press studs. The front and rear windows have wrap around covers from Bug Eyes.

The first outing for the freshly restored splitty was to the Volksworld show at the end of March 2017.
The bus received a huge amount attention and positive feedback from the Volkswagen enthusiasts and visitors to the show.
This included the judging panel who awarded it one of their coveted Volksworld top 20 best of show prizes.
The bus then went on to receive a prize for best of show at the National Motor museum’s Volkswagen T-fest in August.

Following the second internal restoration the bus was shown in 2018 at the VW festival held at Harewood near Leeds. Here she was awarded best air cooled on display and also the ultimate award of best in show. Once again she received a great deal of praise and attention from all quarters.
