Fan shroud with heater outlets

Post by ScottyN » Fri Jun 14, 2019 12:29 pm

I’m in the process of collecting the parts to reinstate heating on my bus.

It’s a 1776 with twin carbs. I’m looking for the fan shroud and tinware, and I’m lead to believe OG flows best? Will be powder coated so looking for a solid OG one if possible?

Thanks

Scott

Depending on the carbs used, some foul stock fan housings

Any suggestions on where or what to look at Jim? They’re twin 40 Weber’s - it’s the set up from the oil monster 1641 that gave you so many headaches at the start of the year :blackeye:
I’ve sourced the OG exchangers etc, and have been advised the new fan shrouds with ‘straight out’ heater outlets don’t flow as well?

Cheers,

Scott

Stock fan housing might need a bit of fettling to clear those carbs, so a dry fit before painting it would be best.

You can also get choke blanking plates for the carbs. I had to fit a pair on my Dells. They’re the main culprit in fouling the shroud.

Also make sure your cylinder tins have the internal vanes - they’re critical in directing air over nr 3 and nr 1 cylinders.
