Westfalia tow bar

Post by Rocket Ron » Thu Feb 07, 2019 8:24 pm

I've been asked to put this up for a friend of mine, we all know or most do what it looks like, best tow bar ever made and today it's very hard to find, and this one has been powder coated, has the plug and a repro plate, fit and plug in.
Asking £1250........ yes not cheap, but see what it would cost to get one, a repro one, from the states and you will see it's not to bad, yes he's open to sencible offers so don't be surprised if he takes less, you can allways come down in price....

Mail me and I'll pass it on...ron@vwendangeredspecies.co.uk

To be fair G I'd be surprised if anyone bought it, but a price has to start somewhere, this is not mind, just a friend who can't or won't use a computer, I had two of these and the first I bought I paid £30 at a show...good old days.

Hi Guys,
Thank you for mentioning us NLA VW parts based in Stratford upon avon. We have just faithfully reproduced the same Westfalia tow bar for Splits based on an original Westfalia tow bar, to very high standard with heat treated swan neck and tow ball which arrived last week. We have paid great attention to details not only on sizes, materials but also on the shape and fittings, even the tow ball itself comes exactly the same as the original not as a perfect whole round ball but with a thin slice missing on the top of the ball for machining purpose. So they are identical to the originals. We also reproduce a badge C9766 for it but we don't put it on. We leave this job to you as it is for show use only but not for identification or classification.
The website listed price is £750 based on our huge tooling cost. But I have offered 10% discount at the parts for sale area in SSVC, however, being a SSVC member myself, I like to offer another 10% off as New Parts launching discount to all SSVC members. So you only pay £600 for it delivered to your door in Mainland England and Wales.
Hope this is helpful and please get in touch if you have any queries.
Many thanks,
Adam

Here you go, just managed to add some photos.

In the 3rd photo, it shows 2 tow bars and the left hand side one is an original one and the right hand side one is our repro one.

Please let us know if you have any questions or quiries regarding this part, and we are very happy to help in any way.

Thanks,
Adam

As I know you Adam I expect nothing else, perhaps a bit of me rubbed off on you, original equipment for the few is always going to be the pinical of any restoration, the bar I'm selling for a friend has been sold and will be on its way to the States anytime soon, this in it's self reflect to length some people will go to, the extra mile in this case to complete there bus.
What Adam has done is remarkable and brings it to the masses on perhaps a price people are more willing to go for over genuine, as genuine parts as we all know are depleting fast, so I take my hat off to you for making something that is a copy, but one at least, from the photos, is of a quality that would be hard to spot once attached to a van, and let's be fair here, as far as tow bars go, the Westy bar is by far the best.
Chinese imports get knocked on a very large scale, me for one gets exasperated at the cheapness and flimsy nature of it but is most times reflected in the price, and yes, a few years ago I lent Gadget Boy my Westy Baywindow tow bar and he made a very good copy, in England, at great expense , very little profit if any, so for a guy like Adam to take on this very important and I'm sure, usfull product, we will thank him in years to come, hopefully.

Yep I'd like to thank Adam of NLaV for making fabrics, vinyls and other Westy bits available easily in the UK, its enabled me for one to take my SO42 to another level.
