(as an aside anyone have s car bra for sale? Won’t protect us from the kangaroos but will help with stones on the new paint)

Just felt compelled to write something here...………………...

What I find most inspiring about these level of magical restorations is not just the transformation process from a condemned rust bucket into a thing of beauty. It is the vision, commitment, drive and relentless energy (and often financial commitment) to achieve the end goal.

For anyone who has ever felt daunted at the mere removal of the engine or a bit of welding here and there this level of restoration is awe inspiring. This is not an exclusive quality of VW owners but a common trait of anyone who has a love for saving a piece of motoring history. Although VW bus owners do it bloody well!!

Kilgore's 54 Samba, Sam Cockers 54 Deluxe to name only a couple - we're talking over 10 years when some marriages only last a couple of years - I doth my cap and promise myself I'll one day return to bus ownership.

Pat yourselves on the back. Legends.
