Choose color for a panel

Post by beetlemic » Fri Dec 21, 2018 6:57 am

Have a panel that needs respray, not much of og color left mostly rust primer.

Was at one stage thinking of a two tone color but one color is probably the best thing and suits panels best.

Original color sealing vax red can stay with original color as inside is nice.

Any ideas or pictures to inspiration would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Michael

I looked on thesamba.com paint and interior. Must be up to 61 colour? Earlier colour was Ruby RedThere are three photos all look slightly different.
Single colour Sealing Wax Red.. every day!
I have 62 BG SWR microbus getting into paint..
Lovely colour ...
My underneath looks like this at the moment...oeer!

Mmm, yes probably the way to go.. panel is a -61 so sealing vax is correct for bus.
But nice to see other ideas also just in case :)

But doesn't it look to "ordinary" with just a single color? Other option is to block down some areas and clear coat all body.. think it's a must with (for me) with a nice logo on the bus to give personality..ideas someone or thoughts?

On thesamba.com there is a copy of the Barndoor advertising pages from a VW catalogue of ideas for liveries.
Panel vans IMHO look strange in two tones like microbuses but do look great in unusual colour splits..
Will hunt for link..
