there are 6 bolts that influence the door gaps x2 front clip, x2 through rear seat floor and the 2 in the rear arches, set your gaps using the rubber spacers then measure the distance and manufacture steel spacers to suit that way when you re-bolt it they are good and solid and unlike rubber won't degrade over time(i generally just use stainless washer stacked up to suit as i pick em up off the floor here at work)
Good / Great heads up thank you

Hi All

front clip now on

rest of the body is now stripped including the steering wheel and shaft ... A little heav hooow and tap here and there and it slid out after 30 mins

Started to plan the bracing but as I got arck eye from welding the front a decided to give my eye a rest and not blind myself for good

Note the way the brace bars over hang into the rear qtr panel inners .... this is so when I sort out a;ll the bracing at the front and with that overhang in the rear this means the front of the vert shouldn't drop at all    as there will not be much holding this sucker together once its off the pan

PS still hate uploading photos ...... why do people change things that were not broken

O well rant over

need a beer as my eye is red raw ..... that will teach me hu .... is not the first time and I doute it will be the last ... must have been when I did the old look away job / cllose the eyes as you hit the trigger ...... due to bloody needing so many hands to get the front panel into place LOL
anyway until next time beeeeeeee cool dudes

Over and out

Got the front all on .... still some fellaling to do ..... But it was a complete pig of a job due to poor panels .... but all sorted now

Thanks for possitive comments guys its all helps keep me motivated

All Bracing done and welded in :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

all loose panels now at sand blasters :bounce: :bounce:   :bounce: :bounce:

will start to find all the bolts that need undoing to release the body from the pan

Looks like the bolts are made of stainless steel as I removed the rear bolts already and the where not rusty at all and this body has never been off this car... so fingers xed they all come out nicely as Most of the other bolts I've undone and SNAPPED

Arck eye is getting better

Just need to look into engine bay and see what need unplugging to lift the body off ..... Might just snip the loom as I'll be fitting a new one anyway

Over and out pervs

wow !!!

People still finiding the Gerry thread .... I'm chuffed people still enjoy that thread .....

Thank you for kind words

Got all the wings and engine lid back from the sand blasters today ..... Wings have had all the filler removed and revealing dents and rust holes .... So got some fun evening in front of me with those ..... I'm finding working / storing those wings are a pain .... they are a funny old shape and just fall and roll over ...... So I'll be panel beating those when they are all bolted to the car so for now I'll get them all into etch primer and hang them up until I've sorted the body out ...I'm really looking forward to getting the pan all sorted as never done that find of thing before

On another subject I'm finally managed to get a company to sort me out matching bricks that are then sawn to a 22mm thinkness and I'm going to clad the new cave pillar .... when I've done it I'll get a pic showing how the three caves look ... that just leaves me a porch to biuld ( that was the deal for Claire .... I get a third cave and ahe gets a Porch and biuld in storage / coat hanging and shoe storage place.

A deal's a deal

Have a fab weekend dudes and dudettes

Yo Yo peeps

Well got 4 hrs in cave this afternoon after taking boys to Karting ..... Sid did mazing and beat his fastest lap ..well done Sid

Once home Claire said it was ok to go into cave as she was busy doing xmas dec's ..... BOOOM .... you dont have to tell me twice

Got into cave a started to blow touch the bolts .... and wire brush them to remove all dirt so I had a better chance of getting the socket on the bolt correctly thus stopping me rounding off the heads ...98% of bolts came out well
theres to big buggers on the inside of the body on the rear floor they both snapped    so I'll deal with drilling them out and re-taping those ... Think I have four snapped bolts so far to contend with

So I've uploaded some pics to keep the resto police at bay and also to keep you pervs happy ..... Photos seam to come out in all the wrong order but have a look and you'll get the idea of what I was up to

Chuffed to at last get the body off as I can start to repair this Vert now ..... First job I'll tackle is the flor pans

Space in the cave has halfed now I have two cars in there ... Body & Chassis ..... If I sort out the chassis first and then I can stand it up against a wall out the way while I crack on with the shell

Anyway here's some pics ..... we all know the rules .... Must show pics or it didnt happen :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Looks like I'm starting to fully undrstand uploading the photo on this new system ... Or maybe I was just lucky and klicked the wright buttom

So I'm going to play with lead loading ... so will be fun
47395376_10216260893387860_1768164437203615744_n.jpg
Managed to speand some time on removing a pan and trile fitting a new one ... the new WW pans are great quality and fit great ..

47250981_10216229642966619_7576850483747225600_n.jpg
47217478_10216229643646636_4879992560983998464_n.jpg
I did struggle drilling out the pan with a stumpy spot weld drill as the drill chuck hit the spin tunnel so i could not get a good straight line to drill out the spot welds .... a quick chat to one of the lads at work he pulled out a nice lllooonnnngggg spot weld drill and it work sweet ...
47073225_10216242825736180_1217321850560839680_n.jpg

Chuffed with the fit of the pan ... so well worth the extra ££££££
47365329_10216242826056188_8026417488147251200_n.jpg

So while I sort the pans out I'm hoping my sand blaster guy will come and get the body and take it away to strip it of all its paint and rust .... then I'll see what I'm left with

All the wings / Boot / Doors are already blasted ... the doors are not great but totaly repairable ... it just time to put them right ... But I'm in no rush on this job so I'll get to them as and when

Later pervs

Panels are fitting nicely on the pan and I've got Monday & tuesday off next week so Hope to get all the pans welded in and the chassis fully stripped so it can go off to be sand blasted

I'm still waiting for my sandblaster man to confirm when the bodys going off to be blasted

Once the chassis all blasted I'll invite my Painter friend Anthony around to see what the plan with the chassis ... as it might be straight into paint with the chassis     but we'll have to wait and see
