steering damper

Post by russvw66 » Sat Nov 03, 2018 7:13 pm

HI my splitty has a 4inch narrowed beam it has rack n pinion steering from creative engineering. on a Bay window bus
do they have a steering damper fitted . But when we fit a narrowed beam to our busses we never think of fitting
a steering damper to help reduce the wondering when driving our vans. Has anybody any comments.
I met a company at Brighton Breeze who supply brackets for steering dampers what i need to do is measure
the beam and he will let me know if the ones they have will fit. I would have to check if the idler arm
was suitable for the end of the damper

I always fit damper. Some places say it makes no difference but I disagree.

You'll have to fit an outer bracket.

A lower drag arm stiffened my wandering steering up, are the rear wheels towing in as well?
