Then I finally fitted the S that i was very kindly sent by Lasse, I hadn’t rushed to fit it as it had a piece underneath it for the number plate, but it was too big for the bus, and as it looked like it had never been fitted to a vehicle before i was a little reluctant to chop it about, after about 15 months of thiught! some tactical trimming took place, and i now have this fitted!!ImageImage

That should be thought! I do love posting from a phone. Especially one that seems to do what it wants as and when it feels like it.

Then today these period perfect accessories were added, they were bought for me in approx 71-72 when we lived in Sweden, add in a mother who doesn’t chuck stuff away, well not stuff that appears to have never been used! ImageImageImageImage
No idea what other treasures will appear in due course! I’m hoping some skis or snow chains to suit the buses heritage, but seeing as its in the UK now, maybe an umbrella would be better!

So, time for an update!
From the US of A a nos brake drum was sourced for the M216 set up, its still patiently awaiting its freshen up in the garage!Image

Then a trip to Ninove was decided to be the best test for the Dellorto’s!
While there i found a suitably aged original script for the back of the bus,

My mate got his bay on the road after a relaxed resto! So a trip to the Aircooled campout was its maiden voyage,

Straight back from there and I decided a couple of Jupiler crates needed making into something useful!

Then a bit of Skegvegas was followed by a campout at a local steam/tractor/anything show!

Then since then its just been family days out, until i had the bright idea to freshen things up, new flooring, sound deadening, re route some cables, make and fit some interior side panels from some oil tempered hardboard i have.
The old flooring has been down for 11 years and was looking tired, it was nice to find the bus floor as fresh as when i covered it over!

So after inspection and cable routing

Now waiting for some free time and dry weather!!

Cheers Mark, i’d best get another swift update in before your next build takes off in a big way!!
Not had as much free time as desired, but here is where i’m at,

Skinz sound deadening fitted, side panels made and fitted and rear seat refitted, and the pile of tools/spares/ nonsense that was under it thinned oit considerably!

Then after a bit of thought ,a new bulkhead seat has been made to house the propex and gas , as the four of us no longer all fit in the bus at once, the extra space was deemed more important that an extra bit of seating,
Bits and bobs still to do, but here is where its at now, table for long side still under construction!

Well, it’s happened, got my act together and am currently on a roadtrip to Sweden, got my Dad along as navigator.
Taking in Bug Run classic, and catching up with old friends from back in the day when we lived in Kungälv, amongst other things.
Things I’ve noticed so far, England, France ,Belguim and the Netherlands are busy, Germany is fun but stay out of the fast lane at all costs, Denmark is calm, but Sweden is just perfect bus territory.
