Can anyone advise on how to get a birth certificate?

If you want a genuine birth certificate you been to apply to the museum.

And be prepared to wait 6-8 months...
Packed a few belongings and headed out to Pirates Cove. In my buddy’s old grey Kombi we rolled until the gas got low.....

Do you need a Birth Certificate or just confirmation of build date for a registration application?

If it is just a build date email type.approval@vwg.co.uk or history@volkswagen.de and supply the chassis number and your address and they will send you details of the build date, ship date and destination.
