Apologies first and foremost as this bus is unexpectedly for sale due to the very recent sad passing of the owner. This is not my bus but I am compiling the history from late owners brother so please bear with me.

It is a beautiful small window right hand drive bus which is fantastically solid all round. The interior is lovely and mechanically she has an 1800 engine which runs a treat. This is a ready to go bus that only requires a little tlc here and there.

This is one of those 'if only I had the money I would buy it' kind of buses.

I work a company that owns a Classic Car showroom and so this is my connection with the vehicle and how it came to my notice. The asking price is £31k but that said she needs to be sold so come and have a brew.

I will shortly add all the photos I can muster together. Having owned and sold buses I know all the photos you are going to require along with engine details, serial numbers and as much provenance as possible. As above please bear with me and I'm going to do my best but this may not be until next week.

The bus is in Essex and can be viewed any time. I can be reached on 07802 779801 and my name is Mark.

I know posting a link is not really the done thing on here but please don't shoot me. I'm trying to expedite a sale for the late owners widow and her children. A much improved advert will follow ASAP. many thanks.

Good luck with the sale, looks like a good bus.

Try an ad on the samba .com as well.

Update from when it was restored.

1964 Canterbury Pitt split screen Camper

The restoration work was carried out a The Bus Barn and was completed in 2008 (2 year resto).

Metal work
It had a complete long side and short side panels from Autocraft, along with all the underside top hat sections replaced. The front floor and seat tubs were replaced along with the inner and outer bottom 6 inches of the front panel.

The steering box was raised to avoid it hitting the floor. This was done in a way that you wouldn’t notice it wasn’t original. The steering column shortened to realign the steering wheel with the dash. Autocraft Aluminium rear pop outs

Running gear.

Box wagon 4 inch narrowed beam. This was the best replacement available at the time
Boxwagen IRS conversion with a longer ratio gearbox (Split vans originally had reduction boxes on the rear and these have been removed to improve motorway speeds.)
Porsche pattern rear brake drums
CSP Porsche pattern front disk brakes
Dual master brake cylinder
I think there are spacers on the hubs now to take it back to 5x205 stud pattern.
The door cards were replaced with original pattern ones from the US

Paintwork is VW Wolken Gray and Pearl white. All new wiring loom and headliner.

The engine and interior cushions were updated and safari windows fitted after last owner sold it after the resto.
