Posted off phone - trying to sort pics into a sensible order! - and excuse my mix of metric & imperial mesaurements - hahahaha
Rear batten screwed down to bed returns is 30mm square - you'll notice my hinges are not original - looks like the originals broke their screws off - if that's original even - seems to be.... the hinges are recessed into batten but not into flap? seems odd. You can see the witness marks in old varnish on the flap, but its definitely not recessed on flap - the batten must be double depth cut for the hinge - must get me some new ones - this pic makes me feel bad! hahaha
The flap has a bull nosed profile moulding all around that stands proud of the main board - the moulding is 10mm thick, and about 1" 1/4 high with a fully radiused nose.
The flap itself (main board) is 3/4" board - minus proud moulding. Looks and feels like good old Devon ply block board - its light!
Its amazing what you see when looking at a picture which reveals a thousand flaws - my flap seems a bit skewiff to one side - never noticed that before - the (added on) hinges are not central obviously...
First pic shows total width of flap (should sort of correspond to width between front & rear seats with a bit of slack!)
Second pic shows flap depth - not including screwed down rear batten that it's hinged off.
Third pic tried to show width of oak moulding.
