1950 Barndoor in the UK....

Post by Rich Oakley » Tue Jul 22, 2014 8:22 pm

We all know there are a handful of '50 models in the UK, but how about this late '50 that arrived in the UK in 1960 from Germany. Needs a fair old bit of work....

Think it's later than 5050 Ben, it doesn't have the short rain gutters.

Great photos!
Looks like it wasn't scrapped, but could it still be in a garage somewhere....
When were they taken? Late 80's/early 90's??

Something strange going on with the cab door top on that one - vintage home brew perhaps?

Hadn't spotted the door top thing- very interesting! Photos were taken in Leicestershire in the mid-80's. It was for sale for about £100.

That's been smacked very hard on that front corner all the way back to the loading doors!

Omg everyone knows that real genuine splitscreen busses have a peak above the cab to supply air to the engine
