Great motor. I put 400 miles on it before going to Germany. 100 of those had break in oil. Checked tappets twice, and 2 oil changes, and had the fuelling set up on a rolling road.

Fully loaded with Mrs, kids and all camping gear it cruised effortlessly 70-75, and would easily pull from there.

We stayed in the mountains, and the switchback mountain passes were no problem. We went up to about 1600m, coming down was a test on the brakes, glad I went for the 4 pot Brembo's as they didn't fade at all.

The motor really is a joy to drive, lots of lovely low down torque with plenty of power. Enjoy

Whereabouts are you based??

Nope!... But, it's now coming to fruition...
Dan posted pics up on FB of the motor, complete with Hi Flow filter kit. It should be ready in about 3 weeks, just remains to see when I can get to pick it up though, as I'm about to change job, and don't know my new rota. Lots of inductions and training in Aberdeen, before the dust settles...

Ron has just finished my new loom.

I need a couple of small items... Oh and a f**k off rev counter and we're there ;)

Not touched the van for almost two months, jumped in the driver seat on Tuesay and he fired on the key! Straight off ;)

Idea for your rev counter. Rather than using a rev counter that unnecessarily revs round to 10000rpm, I used one from a Porsche 912. Period instrument, nice, big and clear and something different. Import one from the States and it'll be a lot cheaper than one from the UK.

Just an idea

As requested, pic of 912 tacho. Used a motorcycle silencer bracket and a cut down carbon fibre sleeve to mount the tacho, pleased with how it turned out. Really like the gauge too, plain uncluttered and period with appropriate rev range.

Hope you like it.

Very nice... And, I have some of those brakets, down the bottom shed, complete with carbon fibre and Ti cans, ready for the ultimate sacrifice!... ;)
Still like the idea of a shift light, though, for when I'm giving it the beans!!!

Engine bay was soda blasted, today, prior to repainting in original colour (L87, I think - Off White).
Just need to order a fuel pump and a fan switch, and we're off...
