Thanks Mark and the same to you and everyone else involved in the Splitscreen scene.

I know I've been slacking on the updates but I've had a rough December and been out of action for the most part. :(
Hopefully on the mend now though although progress is a bit slower than hoped.

I'll update soon :bounce:

Damn... Your van looks sic! :bounce:

I can't believe I haven't seen your thread before, Coops, or that there are so many vans in my (our) area!
I got mine a few weeks ago, just got the underside sealed, while I'm away, but will be hitting it big time, once things settle down in Feb.
We share just about every idea, from the banjo wheel, through added deluxe trim, to the Red 9 rolling loveliness
Even the colour scheme (dark over light) is in the plan.
My van looks a lot more solid than yours, and I actually drove it 175 miles, to get it home, at an average 70mph +
First ever encounter of a steering box 8O 8O 8O
Mines a good runner as it is, but my little boy only has eyes for the bling, so, although he was really excited at getting a splitty (he loves them), he was less than impressed with the patina look! :?
Like you, I've been a biker all my life, but they can't involve my son... The bus however, is our future :D All about weekends, cruzing and holidays together, and when I've had enough, it'll be gifted to him...
Did I miss something in your thread, as you mentioned an 8 week lead time on your engine, but not what engine size, or where from?
I'll be fitting Safari's, plus I'm going to replace my Jalousie's with pop-outs, all polished.
Not sure of the rear interior as yet, possibly go back to the 3/4 bed & wardrobe, as we'll be kipping in an awning type tent (when I decide on which). The Porsche front seats will be reupholstered to match the rest... All done in the Norwich area...
So excited thinking about it, again...
Wish I didn't have to work for a living

Hurry up and post the Red 9 photo's... :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :D

If we're not careful, when we get them all on the road we'll be bumping into each other and denting them again

whoooaaaaaaa
:?

It's been a loooooong time since an update :(

This has been mainly due to me fookin' my back up helping fit the Red 9 front suspension 8O  :x:

I was about a week behind with the updates then on December 4th I was helping Baz with fitting the suspension when..........

TWANG.........................FOOOOOOOOOOOOOK 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O

I carried on for the next few hours as I just love working on the bus.........and I didn't want to seem like a lightweight 8O ............always learning something is the way to look at it but by the end I could hardly walk.

I'll cut a very long story short, suffice to say that was me done for.......couldn't walk, only a VERY painful shuffle and drag and couldn't be upright for more than 2 mins. Life was pretty uncomfortable for the next 2 weeks.

Diagnosis................dislocated 2 vetebrae.

Effect..........................Now know what it's going to feel like to be 90 years old.

Treatment........................................................PAINFUL manipulation and acupuncture.

Took 3 visits to get it sorted and me walking again.........just before Christmas, thankfully.

Following effects.................................Has felt like I've got broken ribs as I've been over compensating and sooooo tense all my stomach muscles have been torn...............................Bloody bugger

We actually had a real nice Christmas...........couldn't do much apart from eat drink and be merry

And...............................Sarah and I finally got engaged

So with things generally improving...............

Happy New Year y'all

So on with the updates. There's been plenty going on and progress is goooooooood :bounce:

Last time we were here, the safaris had been fitted............

Now all the glass has been fitted........

Then Baz did a temporary wiring job to check lights and stuff................

Yes...........I know............the indicator lens is upside down.

Happy with the look :compress:

Temporary speedo and wire up.............

Indicator lens............correct

Time to wheel it out to let it breath in the bootiful Norfolk air..................................... :D

Image

She's riding high...............................

Image

So we arrive at the point of getting ready to fit the Red 9 which means it has to dropped off from my work to Baz, a journey of 2 miles.................. :bounce:

Delivered.....................

Meanwhile................. :bounce:

Remember our thoughts on the seats :?:

This is what I photoshopped for my mate Clive who does this part time. He used to cover bike seats for us, back in the day. Real nice guy and talented too. He said he didn't want an advert as he has too much work to cope with :!: :!: :!:

This is what we picked up....................... :bounce:

Gotta say...........................we are chuffed. :D Thanks Clive.

Sarah and I are going to be doing the panels etc, or should I say, Sarah, her Mum and I are doing the panels, but seats are a different matter.

I promise the next update which will be sooooooon, will have the Red 9 stuff on.......if you are all good. 8O :?:

'till next time......... :faroah: :flower:

Hi and congratulations on the engagement

Glad you are on the mend - was wondering about the lack of posts :(

Looking forward to seeing the Red 9 going on, particularly the rear. We're thinking about going down that road ourselves.

Post soon!

Cheers,
Steve
