But I'm not sure I'll be happy with the hose that I have it connects to the downward facing pipe outlet from the funnel part ( near the battery in the above pic ) the one I've got seams very hard and may not bend as I know it has to travel from the air box outlet and down though the tinwear

That one should be convoluted paper hose do it is easy to bend

I know it's selfish but in a way I'm sad your nearing the finish line, because I am addicted to reading your updates. You will have to keep posting as we need to be weaned off gradually. Is there a type off Internet methadone i can have to help beat the my first vw midlife crisis withdrawal symptoms.

Just trying to live the dream dudes

So today's job was to check him over all ok ..... Had a few elec problems but nothing to do with oxonphil's workmanship it was all self harming in the end just like when I could not get Gerry started on Friday night ....... I FBed my problem and the responses come flooding in ... That what I love about the Ssvc on FB you get instant answers.

Ended up chatting to a guy who saved my world ...... I had the wires that go from the carb the wrong way about on the coil thus stopping him starting ..... Once I plugged them the correct way around ...... BBBBRRRROOOOOMMMMMMM he leaped into life



Then today I found I had no flashers nor wiper motor ..... Tracked it down to a flow fuse ..... So replaced it .... Took Claire and the boy's out for a spin ..... To the end of my road those of you that have been around my house will know that's not a long road .... but neither the less we all had massive smiles
Then when I pulled back onto the drive I again had no flashers and wipers ...... Hhhhmmmmm so popped another fuse in ( yo Phil glade we picked up the asorted box of fuses )
Anyway .... Tracked it down to every time a press the brake the fuse blows ........ ( so I thought what about my brake lights ..... They light up ever time I put my foot on the brake peddle ..... I popped open the engine lid checked the back of the lights and found my leisure battery earth to be resting against the terminal of the rear lights .... ( I move it yesterday when I could not start the engine ).... And unbeknown to me I'd rested it against the dam light ..... So popped another fuse in and tested the system ...JOB DONE ..

I'm now a fully qualified electrician NOT .... But I was proud I'd managed to fix it ..... I did text phill in tears but that's another story hehhehehehhehehehehe

I've now removed the rear wheels as on Monday I'll be having new tyres fitted to Gerry and then mid week Gerry will get a wheel alignment and also another 2 tyres on the front...

Ready for MOT on Saturday morning ..... Bring it on .... Gerry and I will be ready


To say I'm on cloud 9 would be a massive understatement .... Dam I feel good .....

Your all amazing and I take my hat off to you all for your amazing comments and help over the last 2 years and for helping me get this far and making me deliver a rest to be proud of.... I'm chuffed to bits
