Been a while since I updated my progress, so here goes!

What have I done......?

Upgraded to dual circuit brakes and while I was at it changed all the hard and soft brake lines (even thought they were pretty good anyway). That now means that the brakes have been completely re-newed. Should keep me stopping for a good few years.

Fitted a nice Gene Berg shifter that my lovely girlfriend bought me for my birthday! :D

Thought I'd better replace all the gear shift bushes and couplers to get the most out of it. Was a bit of a job but not as bad as it could've been.

I also had a bit of a tidy up with all the leisure wiring (I just chucked it together to make sure everything was working and then just left it!)
Bought a better power inverter and hooked up a 240v double socket on my TV cabinet. Also bought a PS2 (can't beat retro gaming!!) off ebay, so thats all hooked up now.

A few months ago I bought an original reverse light off thesamba.com. I'd had a hole in my original rear bumper where a light had been mounted and the reverse light switch on the back of my speedo so thought I should get one. Ended up getting a mint original one for less than a repro so mustn't grumble!
Got it wired up and it works a treat.

Next on the list was a day awning. I'd seen a couple around and seen BVK's plans on his website so I enlisted the help of my mum and we rustled this up.

Needs a bit of a clean and an iron but I'm really chuffed with it. Used it in some pretty heavy wind yesterday and it worked a treat 8)

As a nice little bonus, my bus is in this months Camper and Commercial. I'm really pleased about it and it was great to meet David Eccles, he's a top bloke and is doing a great job with the mag :salute:

I'll be at the Dubdayz Summer Festival next weekend so if anyone is going and you see me, pop over and say hello.

Been a while since I've updated this. Finally hopped on the property ladder last October so I've been busy with the house so not much has changed on my bus. Been using it here and there though and it had a wonderfull outing last weekend to one of my best mates wedding!

Image

I was best man along with 3 of our other best mates and I drove us all to the venue (just down the road from AbsoluteVW in Castle Donnington)

Was a wicked day and the bus went down a storm!

Heres a couple more pics from my phone, may add some better ones when I remember to pick up my camera!

Oh my god it’s been 9 years since I’ve updated this!
I still have her, it’s been 15 years now, and still love her.
Here’s a pic from a camping trip last weekend

I decided to spend some quality time under her this week and have given her a fresh coat of POR15 underneath. God that was fun. I’ve managed to get the paint off my face and neck but the rest of my body is still covered!

I’ll get round to adding a few more updates over the next few days.

Nice one, still with the same lass I take it? Your future grease monkey poking his head out the sunroof?
Like to see more just reread the first page as I’d forgotten the story.
Cheers

It’s been a busy few years so I guess that explains the lack of interest/activity in the VW scene.
We’ve been married 8 years now and have 2 boys that love the bus. We’ve also converted a barn on my parents farm that took a good 5 years of my life!
I now use the bus for wedding hire that, although not ideal for most owners, has meant that she well and truly earns her keep and has guaranteed her place in our family. If it wasn’t for the weddings I think I would’ve had to sell her to help fund the barn when we ran out of money in typical Grand Designs style!

Respect to you for getting under the bus, and getting your hands dirty with the POR 15 :)
