OK Electrical section pages E -26, E - 27, & E - 28 COVERS CHANGES ON 01 august 1960.

The last entry on page E - 28 says
Flashing Indicator including standard. Now for all models. Formerly trafficators

So from the date of your bus it was NOT built with bullets!

Excellent, I thought so as the bullets aren’t wired in, they’ll be gone soon!

So a few weeks ago I wrote a pleading letter to the DVLA asking for the registration number to remain with thevSC, unfortunately they want documentary evidence, anyone ever managed without?

But as this one is an age appropriate why can’t I have it?

...yes that was my comment..pre 83?
So maybe need to get from your seller details of how it was used by the Coalmerchant and dig in the locale for anything in the local papers or adverts? etc..
Need name and address of the initial owner. Just want one family photograph with a written affidavit from a family member about it..
Where was it bought from..where was it serviced?
MOT record..
Tax disc down the back of the kick panel..anything!,

I have the name and address of the previous owner, the coal merchant bought the farm, but the SC was already languishing in a barn by then.

I emailed High Wycombe Historic Society last week in the hope they’d be able to help in case I got that letter, nothing back yet but will start to look at census details to see if I can find descendants of the previous owner.

Like Endeavour this...
So I take it .... is it uncertain whether the SC was bought initially by the coaĺ merchant... or by the Farm owner?
Maybe High Wycombe has a library and you could trawl to see if it features in any of the local papers..HX is a London reg I thought High Wycombe was outer London? No idea what county..
Where was the local car taxation office or where may any records have gone..
I traced my registration record right back to a decision to destroy all Vehicle licensing records.

As I understand it the farmer owned it from new. Now I have your info on the HX being a London Reg I’ll start to delve deeper, i guess if it was in High Wycombe all its life there is probably one VW dealer that covers the area, maybe one Post Office too? Lots to dig into, so not just rust to battle, bloody bureaucracy!

Been looking at High Wycombe as a start
The motor vehicle records appear to be Buckingham and in the range bh bht etc..
So I think the first owner would have been in Central London.

http://archives.buckscc.gov.uk/CalmView ... px?s=Mvl/1

It refers to book to read..
Says
For further information on the history of vehicle licensing see 'How to trace the history of your car', by Philip Riden, published by Merton Priory Press, 2nd edition 1998.
G

So need to find which licensing office issued HX in Feb 1960..
Would still trawl High Wycombr local rag pictures.. may just get a period photo..
