1967 RHD Walk-thru Devon

Post by Devon Heaven » Sun Jan 18, 2015 10:56 pm

Hello there fellow SSVC fans

Been looking for a few years and finally found Lucy - previously owned by Retro Andy who some may recall.

Lucy is in need of some TLC and with the help of David at VDub Bodyshop will get her back on the road before too long (famous last words !!! ).

Will try to keep post regular but it's not always easy.

Hints / tips from fellow members would be much appreciated

First thing on the list is to get shot of the Astra GTE seats and try to find period replacements.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer along the journey guys......

James

Yes, spot on, it was Graham's bus many years ago.

It does have quite a cool plate on it, I am hoping some other members may remember it and be able to re-tell some stories of it???

Retro Andy was a cool bloke, I always used to bump into him at brighton every year and catch up.

This bus was amazing, full of cool old gadgets. If I remember correctly it was stored in a firework factory near Birmingham, with a load of old blokes who had blown there own fingers off.

I have some pictures of it in its prime , ill dig them out.

Hack, cool photo - thanks for posting that :-)

Yes, I bought the bus from Retro Andy as he had other toys that we're keeping him busy

There were loads of dated gadgets that came with the bus, including the rather cool Coke cooler. Not sure what use i will have for them all yet but I'm sure I'll find some uses.

Look forward to seeing any other pics you may have.

The forum still rules, especially for threads like this... what are your plans? Putting the missing bits of the correct Devon interior back in?

Hi Ted, most of the interior was rotten and had been butchered about by the previous owners so I will be going down the refit route - more than likely All Things Timber will be appointed for that element (in due course).
