Mark, they were welded up holes from the aluminium panels that the previous owner put over the rusty arches.

They’ll be painted in and blended.

So over the last few months while Dave & Matt have been creating magic with the SC I’ve been busy sourcing parts and tidying up what is salvageable.

Here’s a few pictures, the gearbox/reduction boxes and front beam were absolutely covered in crud, i guess 10 years of farm life before being put in a barn took its toll.

So I dragged the jet wash out and dropped the beam and gearbox on the drive, plenty of engine degreaser, wd40, petrol and a few hours with a wire brush gets me this.

After a conversation with Markp I bought Hydrate 80 to deal with the rust, so a good painting with a brush and it looks solid, you can’t see it as I’m useless and didn’t take any pictures

Then a few coats of etch primer they look a little like this.

I found a great local company to powder coat some of the parts for me, Ercon Powder Coating in Bilston (http://erconpowdercoatings.co.uk), I didn’t know but they do all the work for Car SOS, a quality company, speak to Neil if you need anything doing.

Again no before photos as I’m useless, this is what the parts look like after less than a week.

They were so rusty and pitted, I’m really pleased they’ve come back!

They’re off my bus, just to get it rolling. But never say never.

Be careful of the rolling circumference - what's the difference between your 14" bus wheels/tyres and one of the crossplies stacked up behind - if you go too small it will be revving it's tits off on the motorway and top out at 50 (if your lucky)...
Is it small nut RGB's? I guess it is....
