Eberspacher fitting advice

Post by ally5443 » Thu Jun 14, 2012 8:22 pm

I'm going to fit my d2 eberspacher tomorrow and got the base plate for it. This means cutting out a 5" hole in the floor :( under r and roll bed, bit tight with cross members etc but should fit. What do most people do with these, fit with base plate or drill 2 smaller holes for exhaust and inlet?

Cheers
Ally

I drilled 2 smaller holes for inlet and exhaust plus a couple of other holes for fuel pipes and cables etc. Used the rubber gasket and some sealant between the unit and cargo floor. Also fitted under the r&r bed.

Stephan - where/how are you running the fuel hose to get to the front? Assuming you are coming off the tank?

I have a splitter above the torsion housing, it runs through one the corners of the center chassis section into the left chassis leg together with the brake line.. simples :D

I was brave  and cut out the 5" hole to use the plate, not much room so checked about 10 times and sh#t myself the whole time, bolted the ebber onto plate silicon and 4 self tappers, made a new loom as mine had been butchered. So just the exhaust and fuel pump and lines to do. Will get some photos up.
