shift rod bushes

Which cross members do the 2 shift rod bushes fit into?
My van is a 58.
Also does the selector plate on the gearstick end fit under the floor or on top?

The shift rod bushes, I would imagine slot onto the rear shift rod.

My 66 rear rod has some small holes, which the bushes slot onto ...

Hi cyclosport thanks for the reply.

My problem is that i've bought a new shift rod and the holes that the bushes slot into don't line up with any crossmember for the bushes to run in.I have tryed the rear shift rod both ways round.I was going to drill fresh holes for the bushes but are unsure which crossmembers/tophats the bushes need to locate in?

Hi Lee,

My rear shift rod fits in a housing (pipe) that runs from the front to the rear of chassis, the bushes stop the rear rod from knocking against the housing and support the movement of the rod when changing gear. I just located the bushes onto the rod and put the rod back in it's housing ...

Maybe a 58 is different ...?
