378 025

U, 241 BGR SR 971XXX

Buy David Eccles book as it will give a blow by blow account but here goes for free (what I know from the top of my head). The book is also good for figuring out what changes have been made to your bus over the intervening years.

0507 2 - your bus was born on 5th July 1962
M-codes 378 (not sure what this is?) 025 (speedo fitted with trip)
U (USA export)
241 - type 241 (microbus delux 7,8,9 seater LHD)
BGR SR (can't think off the top of my head but they are the colour codes that it left the factory with. I think SR is sealing wax red and BGR is grey of some description)
971 XXX is your chassis no.

I found out most of mine from here:

http://www.type2.com/m-codes/index.html

Anyone know what 085 means? I have even written to VW but no reply so far! :(
