Calling all 21/23 window owners what camp!

Post by orb » Mon Feb 16, 2004 1:19 pm

Hi
Just a quick one - what do you guys do when camping to block the sun from the roof windows?
We will be going camping this year with our daughter (11 weeks old at the moment) and don't really want her waking up at 5am as the sun streams in!
Just wanted to see if anyone had a solution or if I should get busy with the sewing machine and velcro!

Cheers

Excess booze usually does it for me, but that's not that helpful to you. The neatest solution I've seen, is someone has made up ally panels for theirs that have suckers that push onto the glass, and block out the light.

I had thought of that one, maybe some lack and white checkered bits cut to shape, only thing I thought was that the suckers would hold it off the glass so they would still let in light.
The other way we thought of was to make up a piece of fabric that we'd then velcro over the whole lot - easy to put up/down and easy to store.
Ummmm I'll have to give it some more thought.

I'd would think about selling the van or doing a swap for a good Kombi...

Only joking.

My mate uses little strips of material with a tiny bit of velcro on each end...

There’s a pretty cool vinyl cover pictured on here but they’re not cheap!
