It seems hard to find any pics of an oilcooler being fitted behind the front beam?
With the belly pans it is hard to fit one in the center (unless cutting scoops and exit points which I prefer not to do) so wanted to fit slim, but longer cooler at the front. It seems there is space behind the front beam, but have not seen anyone really doing this?
Anyone that did or has a link to some pics to get some ideas?
Thanks!
Peter
oil cooler up front (behind beam)
Re: oil cooler up front (behind beam)
I'm seeing quite a few peeps fitting additional cooling on their buses, but to what end ? As I understand it, the stock set up with dog house cooler, flaps, thermostat etc is sufficient to keep the engine at optimum efficiency in terms of heating up and cooling down.
Interested in the theory etc.
Cheers

Totally agree... with a stock engine.
But the same thinking is not really valid with a performance engine so would add extra cooling.
Thanks,
Peter

Re: oil cooler up front (behind beam)
I have no clue, but it seems a long way to run an oil line to me. Lots of air to purge and a long way to pump the oil there and back, especially on a winter's day with cold, thick oil in the pipes and cooler. Would the oil pump cope?
Would you propose to run the pipe through the belly pans to protect it from impacts?

Very long oil hoses. That's why you won't find many doing it.
Supplying quality in house designed items plus parts from SyncLink, Kennedy Clutches, & CB Performance. Also fitting service including modifications & mechanical upgrades.
