205 to 130 pcd

Post by VioletVW » Tue Sep 26, 2017 4:38 pm

I've had a nose around the internet and can't much in the way of adapters or changes from 205 to 130.

Is it possible?

If so, how are people doing it?

Thanks.

If its original 205 then adapters are the only option, unless you are changing brakes or running bay stuff.

I've not seen a redrilled 205 drum, not even sure if the flange would allow it.

I was thinking about the adapter route. Any idea offhand who sells them? Saw someone selling a set on FB the other day but can't see them on Butty's Bits website..

Actually I did see something similar on another site but I'm pretty sure it said NOT for splitscreens.... Just read the details, it's this one! lol.

Realistically its change the brakes... I have Airkwld disks upfront and type 3 drums on the rear. Never simple is it?

Porsche 944 discs can be had for reasonably cheap

You'll need an adapter kit, all the info is available online

I think mine were £500 second hand for front and rear plus £80 on calliper refurb kits and £150 calliper mounting kit for the front.

I also had to have my spindles rebuilt at £250 because I have a pre-63 bus and 944 hubs only fit 63 onwards spindles without machining.

Alternatively there are sturdier and thicker adapters available than the ones you've shown above. They'll add 50mm track width so you need to watch your offset if you don't want your bus to look like an 80s monster truck.

Cheers for the replies. It looks like Airkewld do a range of bolt patterns for my front disks so can change that easy enough. Also, T3D do rear drums with different bolt patterns too. Will have to give them a ring to see how much. Hopefully, i'll be able to sort it out over the winter.

Cheers
