Replacing rear crossmember

Post by Disco Stew »

Has anyone ever replaced the rear crossmember that sits beneath the cargo floor without removing the floor?

The reason I ask is that my floor is original and in pretty good shape, so I would rather not disturb it, but the crossmember is a bit soft.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

Sorry, no, I probably used the wrong terminology. I meant the enclosed top hat section that can be seen above the heater tube in the pics.

Floor out. Or at least a section of it.
