How do they come off (and go back on)?
It seems to be a Chinese puzzle which I can't work out!
wiper spindles
Re: wiper spindles
The brass bearing (to use VW's terminology) is held in place at the top of the shaft by a very small circlip that locates in a groove in the shaft, as per the pictures of an NOS pair I have available (shameless plug!):

The shaft/spindle itself can be carefully pried/pulled off the connecting lever.

Re: wiper spindles
Thank you. Your shameless plug would be most welcome (as you can see the state of that spindle). If I didn't have a new set from C&C sitting here.
I cannot for the life of me see the circlip on my old ones. I see it on the replacements. I shall look harder!

Probably, or rather what is left of it!
Good luck!

Re: wiper spindles
I'll probably just cut the spinle off as it's trashed anyway
