mig welder buying help

ok guys need a bit of advice if you had a budget of around 350-400 for a mig welder what would you go for?

If you can stretch the budget a bit, have a look at an Oxford. Also look at a Portamig. Both made in UK by Technical Arc of York (TechArc)

Oxfords available through a dealer network. Portamig is sold on net by Weldequip.

Get the biggest one you can, ideally 180 or 200

Yep I have the r-tech invertor mig and its brilliant you cant go wrong with it, better than sip or sealey.

Got a 200 amp Portamig, best welder I've had (and I've had a few!), thoroughly recommend them

you get a telwin for that kind of money, i once borrowed one when mine was broke and it performed very well for how much it cost

I'm in the market for a mig as well, I was considering the Portamig 180 or R-Tech, now swaying towards the Portamig. Anyone used a Jasic pro mig?

I think for the money the r tech is great. Also I've heard very good things about there customer service. Also includes a 2 year collect fix and return warranty.

I bought a SWP mig 210 turbo, it's the cheaper end of the scale but it's a lovely mig and seems to be quite well built.
