Push button cab door handle mechanism -how's the spring fit?

How does the spring and the lever arm fit together at the bottom of the barrel guys?

Just putting mine back together and can't figure out how the spring goes.

How do they attach to this?


Don't worry, the copper slip was just lightly applied between the handle and the lock case. Not on the lock barrel.

You need to spring it around the peg on the bit in the handle then put the arm on.

So do the spring ends just go on either side of the tab? So when the key turns left and right, the ends try to push it back to the central position?

Mine are pretty weak and not offering much resistance by the looks of it...

Yes spring ends go either side of the tab, then screw in latch - end/branch facing towards smaller end of handle

Ok, so I had it correct. The spring just isn't providing much resistance. Probably just old and weak.
