1959 23 WINDOWS SAMBA

Post by DOLFIE » Fri Oct 11, 2019 6:31 am

With great regret our 1959 23 Window Samba is up for sale.
Price: £90,000 - PRICE DROP: £66000 (loads spent on the bus and it owes me lots lots more).

GENUINE German built 23 windows Samba with birth certificate vin number 479484.
Manufactured on 12th June 1959 and originally sold into the USA, California.
Imported to UK in 2008.
The bus had been previously restored in the States but it had been painted in a two tone of orange and cream, obviously not the original color when built. At first I had the idea to just paint it in its original color, but when stripping the paint out I decided to fully restore it as to remove all rust. The bus has just been professionally restored over a 15-month period from March 2018 to July 2019. Full sand blasting, Restoration & Metalwork, followed by zinc prime, high build prime and then painted in its original sealing wax red, beige grey color and silver white bumpers. Restoration pictures upon request.

It’s probably the cheapest genuine 23 window for sale by far.
I bought this bus from Austin K. Member of this forum and spent a fortune to make of it my dream bus. Sadly the bus is now too perfect and I’m afraid to use it and has sat in the garage ever since I restored it. However; if it does not sell at this price I will definitely keep it.

Cheers
