Post by jayvanman » Tue Sep 17, 2019 7:41 pm

****PHOTO UPDATE AND PRICE DROP - AGAIN****

My 66 Sundail has had a few upgrades

These include

Dual circuit brakes
IRS suspension
Drop spindles
New Wiring loom
12V electrics
New Battery
All new door seals
All new window seals (a few internals need to be fitted)
Rebuilt 1600 engine
New starter
Front Safari
Rear Safari
New upholstery (rear)
Replacement seat covers front
New front seat pads
New slider window felts (that are secure)
Full length roof rack
Fuel cut off solenoid
New fuel lines (done recently)
New nose cone seal
Quick shift gear change

Welding :
New front floor
New sill under cargo doors
2 or 3 small patches on cargo floor

1 key fits all locks + 1 ignition key

The interior is mostly original, as much as I could possibly keep.

Lots of love and dedication went into restoring the interior. Some pieces needed to be replaced completely but most could be saved.

On a few panels I had to cut out the rotten bits and build the ply back up by glueing new layers of ply one at a time, then using some original laminate on the face of it so it barely shows.

I've just about got to the end of doing a complete job but not quite.

Things left are very minor.

Repair hassles and refit - or you could fit new ones ( personally, I was looking forward to repaint the old ones, the last piece of 60's hippy mania)

Repair the original curtain cover strip.

Fit original handles and securing clips back on the fridge/ watertank.

And that's about it.

Of course she not perfect and there are some jobs that need doing, as they all do - unless you're spending 35k + I'm not going to be asking that much. I think 25,500 is a fair price. I did do a search for Sundial for sale and flu d a really lovely polished original example and that was advertised for 45k, I've been meaning to get the t-cut , maybe i should !

So anyway , here are Laura's bad bits :

And I will say at this point i am not including the surface rust, 90% or more will t-cut off so its not a repair, more a cosmetic thing if you don't like the paintina look.

There is rust around the bottom of the wardrobe window that needs looking at, as well as 1 or 2 of the pop outs.

Steering, yep there is a bit of play in the steering as a lot of buses have. Nothing to be overly worried about. I have got a spare and was going to strip and repair it and then fit it- but never got around to it. Included in the sale of course.

The only other jobs that spring to mind would be to find an original pair of kick panels and front door cards. Also an original cover that goes under the drivers seat, but I have a repro one.

That is about it.

If you would like to see the work that's gone into her please have a read of my thread in rides and projects.
