1965 LHD silver van for sale

Post by Rock Bus » Sun Sep 15, 2019 3:14 pm

Very reluctantly selling my camper van, it’s been a loved member of the family but sadly we are just not using it enough. MOT history shows only did 200 miles last year and under 4K in the last 5 years. To be honest it just seems like a waste for it to be stuck in the garage when someone could be making better use of it and enjoying it.
Basic details:
• 1965 petrol van.
• Engine size 1.6
• Mileage showing as only c96,000
• Left hand drive
• Front Disc brake conversion only c24 months ago
• Twin Carbs
• IRS
• Full camper conversion
• Porsche wheels

Good Points
• Reliability – starts up no problems even when left for a few months.
• Mechanically sound -has never let me down.
• Brilliant MOT history
• Just sailed past current MOT needing only new wiper blades.
• Drives well – comfortable on motorways at 60-70 mph.
• Stand out all silver colour.
• Fully kitted out for camping with rock n roll bed, storage, double hob & grill with gas connection, sink, table, full curtains all around.
• 5 seat belts in total (2 in front and 3 in rear (1 full and 2 lap belts – professionally installed).
• Stereo with speakers front and rear
• Only used in good weather (hence low mileage!) and is stored in garage all year round.
• Same owner for last 11 years.
• Taken to air-cooled specialist for all small work needed.
• Registered as motor caravan.

Bad Points:
• Paintwork – there are some very small areas of surface rust coming through in the ‘usual’ places (pictures provided). Nothing appears substantial.
• Paintwork has a couple of areas which have been ‘stained’ by something from garage roof?
• Fuel gauge working intermittently

Optional extras:
Below can also be included for right price:
• 2 bike carrier
• Full roof rack

Overall
It’s a great van which can either be used immediately for camping adventures or alternatively, with a bit of TLC and a new paint job, it could be easily turned into a nice show and shine vehicle.
I’m not a ‘technical’ expert myself but happy to try and answer any questions or provide any more photos. Also more than happy for test drive and inspection to be arranged (based in Leamington, Warwickshire)

PRICE : 24k ONO reduced to £22,900

Would also considered px for a Karmann Ghia.

Having been messed around by potential buyer.
Lowering price to £22,900
Id be open to a sensible offer as I’d rather sell this month or will probably store until next ‘season’ when expect could get more.

No not for a good bus ready to go ,try buying a project for 8 to 10 grand spend 10 to 12 grand on welding and paint ,probs engine bit of lowering ,half decent interior ,and see what it ends up at.

Cheers Robbie, appreciate that.
Think I’ve got it priced to sell as it’s a great van that’s never let me down,
Might need to just be patience until season starts again.
