1965 LHD VW Splitscreen for Sale

Post by davehowes17 » Thu Aug 22, 2019 9:22 am

I am selling my 1965 11 window VW splitscreen in Beige Grey over Titan Red with 1.6 engine. Great history being one of buses featured in “The Hunt” in Hayburner that was found in Texas, USA and imported into the UK by Lonestar VW in Norfolk.
The bus underwent a full bare metal restoration in 2015/2016 by Lonestar VW to an incredibly high standard.
I have all the pictures of the restoration and all the paperwork/receipts for work done since I have owned it and relevant importation documents and DVLA registration etc.

The bus has only ever been to one VW show, which it won best in show and has been kept garaged for the whole time I have owned it. It is with a heavy heart to sell it, but I have only used it a handful of times over the last few years (126 miles last year and only 670 miles in total since first MOT in Jan 2016) and this bus needs to be used and enjoyed on a weekly basis.
Due to the lack of use the bus is still in as pristine a condition as it was when it was restored. The bus has never let me down and starts first time. It is serviced and MOT every year at specialist VW Garage in Norfolk. Last service was end of June 2019 and MOT is to 17 June 2020.
I have no need to sell and will keep the bus if no one is forthcoming at the right money.

See two of the pictures for details of some of the extra's/enhancements added to the bus, so you can work out the investment that has gone into the bus to get it to this standard.

£45,000 o.n.o.
