1967 RHD Split Screen - Now Sold!

Post by Gnarly » Wed Nov 22, 2017 10:14 pm

Hello to you all,

I tried to do this last year but convinced myself, after seeing her in fresh paint, that I would make the time and money, and finally use my bus as originally intended.

Forward on 12 months, and I'm having to admit defeat with a heavy heart and the bus is now most definitely up for sale so someone can enjoy it and make the most of it as I should have done.

For pictures of the original story and build go to my old rides thread here : http://www.ssvc.org.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=24616

It has the following running mods:
Standard Beam with dropped spindles, and CSP front discs that make it look like a narrowed beam,
Rear has coil over shocks and CSP discs, on a Straight axle conversion,
Brake servo to help it stop nice and quick,
1776 with dual 34's and a tuckaway exhaust, which looks a little gnarlier these days,
Larger Bay Fuel tank and wiring for a leisure battery ( might try and get a new one fitted )

Interior wise :
Basic grey door cards,
Standard steering wheel, smoothed dash, red speedo
Jag Seat for front seats
Wooden headliner and Ally strips
Homemade Headliner cupboards with Speakers
Rock n Roll Bed, and roll down blinds
Ply-lined floor with lino.

It was rubbed back and resprayed from the gutter down this time last year, as the guys at Lincs Resto felt that the roof was still good. They said she is still as solid underneath as when I did the original build.

I will attempt to post new pics asap, but bare with me as it's been a while. These are a couple of photos from the old thread, but she looks just as good now, but shinier as the matte paint had to go.

How you doing stranger? Was looking through my phone book the other day and saw your number. I wondered what had happened to you and your bus. I remember the last time we spoke was on our firetech exchange.

I'm afraid the scene as we knew it has died, I'm still holding on for better days but not convinced.
Great bus Alex

Kerion, in answer to your question, nothing last forever, the reply post says it all....( like the bus mate but out of my price range)
That is probably the biggest reason, new blood has not got the money.....hope you and your wife are well and hope to catch up in the new, this, year..

sorry for the delay, work has been busy again!

A few people have asked for interior pics, and I've finally managed to get some taken and now found time to post them up...
As previously mentioned, the interior has been a useable work in progress and I've previously removed the old cabinet I had along the bulkhead with the intention of building/ buying something better but I have always been kept busy with other things.

A few of the front cab..
