64 bus - excellent condition - all the toys - 1776, IRS, etc

Hi all,

Considering selling my 64 bus as I have got it exactly how I want it & now I have nothing to tinker with! Also, it hardly gets used.

It's a 1964 11 window in white over Manila green.

The main objective for me was to have a bus which is very usable, keeps up with modern traffic and drives as close to a modern car as I could get (for a 53 year old bus), yet i wanted it to look nice.

Bodywork is excellent - very very solid - all the jobs I have done on it, for example fitting rear seat belts, where I have had door cards off, etc and the body & paint are sweet with no hidden rust or damage.

Brand new interior fitted by Bromsgrove Auto Trimmers (well it is actually a couple of years old, but the condition is still as new), consisting of..

Rock & Roll bed
Standard front seats (walk through)
Fixed buddy seat with storage underneath
Fold down buddy seat
Door cards & kick panels
new headlining
new tailored carpets front & rear

The main objective for me was to have a spacious uncluttered feel in the back, with still with some functionality.

Fold down table & fold down shelf (just big enough for a small stove) in walnut.

2 front inertia seatbelts, both buddy seats have inertia seat belts & bed has 3 lap belts, so belted seating for 7.

Front & rear towel rail bumpers with bumper trims.

Currently fitted with BRMs, but I also have a spare set of chrome empi 5s (all wheels are fitted with as-new tyres and all are mint).

i have spent a lot of time & money getting the drive/ride as good as I can - spec as follows..

1776 with twin dell 40s, Engle cam, electronic ignition, etc. (really good engine spec, built by a very good engineer, but I won't bore you with the spec of the engine here)

rear IRS with type 3 brakes and adjustable spring plates

DC code (type 3) gearbox - shifts lovely and very precise gear change

Front is 2" CB performance narrowed beam with wide 5 CSP disc brakes, beam adjusters, gaz adjustable coilovers

Dual circuit brakes

original steering box (best one I have ever driven, nice and precise)

All doors & boot off one key (ignition off a separate key).

CE deluxe beltline trim

Front safari windows with 2 side pop-outs

Leisure battery with split charging

radio/cd with 4 x speakers

Rev counter fitted above dash, but only to the ashtray, so this could easily removed by just fitting a new ashtray (didn't want to drill the dash)

Only 2 issues, which I have never got round to fixing - one of the cargo doors is a very slight shade off and there is a very small amount of bubbling at the bottom of the front clip on the one side - this has never got any worse in the 3 years I have owned the bus & it was my intention to get tis fixed, but never really bothered me as hardly noticeable.

I was thinking of a no-haggle price of £30k - I was quoted £500 to fix the rust & respray this and the door (the guy guaranteed he could match the paint) so i would be prepared to knock this £500 off the asking price, so £29500 but that's a no haggle price as I am not really sure that i want to be selling it anyway, so in no rush to give it away.

bus located in Solihull, near Birmingham airport.

piccies to follow.
