Rear facing seat

For all those other conversions, including homemades and one-offs.

Rear facing seat

Post by boardman411 » Tue Feb 06, 2018 7:28 am

I would like to build a rear facing seat in the split, was wondering how other people who have one of these have made them ?

Have you made them out of a metal frame wrapped in ply or a wooden frame wrapped in ply. Looking for some ideas, pics of what people have done.

How have you fixed this in, bolted through floor or bulkhead behind driver.

I see this topic is a bit old but in case you’re still after ideas I made a couple of single buddy style seats for my walkthrough.

I used MDF but in hindsight plywood should’ve been chosen, it’s still pretty light and strong, over a year with no issues. It’s held together with a couple of cabinet brackets in the corners. I haven’t secured it down to the floor or anywhere and so far it hasn’t flown into my lap but maybe that’s an idea when I’ve the rest of the interior sorted.
