Front Cup Holders

Post by Squirtz » Thu Sep 03, 2015 7:36 pm

Hi All

I have recently developed Cup holders for the front of the van as I got fed up with having nowhere to put my can of coke/coffee on my travels, my wife usually holds our drinks but not good as she cant hold on to anything when I take a corner!
I've seen the cup holder that fixes through the dash from aircooled accessories which is nice but a bit big for me and even though you can unclip it you still have to store it somewhere.

So, I get to the point!, I am interested in knowing if people would like to have these as they allow for two cups in the front that rotate and fold away when not in use keeping them out of sight, they are made of polished aluminium and although the ones in the picture show white cup inserts the new design will be Stainless steel, these inserts are also removable for cleaning and the cup holders rotate under friction so stay wherever you move them to!

please take a look at the photos, be nice to hear your views as I will start manufacturing them if demand is there! (I recently developed the ashtray Iphone dock, which I only started after asking a similar question to everyone!)

I would expect they will cost around £30 for a pair inc postage

look forward to your feedback!

Hi Miles

It requires a 5mm hole drilled into the underside of the dash and retained between two friction washers, so very simple and descreet to fit

Thanks

Hi All

Sorry its been a while in development (especially to the people who wanted the original posted design) but I like to ensure things are designed to the highest possible standard I can (hopefully people who have my ashtray Iphone docks will agree)

So in summary I have now finalised the design and have a good manufacturing partner for the 2 piece cup holder which will now both be made from Stainless steel (cup holder brushed inside polished outside, rotating plate brushed) as they look far superior to the plastic and aluminium ones I posted back last year and are not colour specific so work with any interior (i hope you also agree!).

I have attached more photos of the new design so you can see that it still functions as previously rotating under the dash when not required and you only need to drill one 6mm hole to fix it.

I expect to have them manufactured and ready to ship by the end of this month, they will come with everything required to fit them along with colour fitting instructions.

I will advise on cost including postage very shortly but expect them to be around £30 pair.

Take a look at the photos, please ignore the white cup holder on the left as I just fitted the one the right to show the new design
feedback welcomed!
watch this space I'll keep you posted on availabilty as i'm pushing to get them finished faster!
