Cheers matey :)
I've found a company that has a few new colours so hopefully they'll have one to suit. I can't believe how much some of the laminates cost  I did find I've that looked suitable but it was over £350 for a sheet

Hi All,

I had a 1959 Canterbury Pitt bought in 1989 and stolen in 1996. The only thing i have left is the original table with red Formica top. Its been a sentimental issue as we had very happy times around said table but i do think it now belongs back in a bus for camping as intended. Any reasonable offer accepted. I'm based in Dartford Kent

Hi,
That's interesting, I've never seen a Pitt table in red before and didn't actually know they came in red. Can you remember the sink unit and what the fold out draining board was like? Also what's the piece that goes across the middle from side to side? Looks like it's got some sort of arm/support on it that I've never seen. I'm really intrigued by this and the bus it came out of. Do you have any pics of the bus at all and the interior layout? Also what was the cooker unit and cooker like please and was it a pop-top? Is there any chance it was a Pitt-Moto made before the collaboration with Canterbury Sidecars in Ockendon?
Cheers, Lee.

Hi A quick question please, would it be possible for someone to measure the length of an original sprung loaded folding table leg bracket. I'm trying to source the right length measured from pivot to pivot. I've recently taken over Camper Interiors (Caravan Supplies) from Stan and Jennifer and we have a supply of the shorter 8" brackets, but there is also a 10" and a 10 1/2" version, both hard to come by and we'd like to stock some for CP owners, but it would be useful to get the right ones! cheers Kevin

Hi Kevin,
The overall length of a fully extended original support with the mounting brackets tucked under is 10”. The distance, centre to centre, between the outer pivots is 9 1/2”. As I've previously searched for a suitable bracket myself and if useful, you can find a pic of an original support bracket compared to a 10” Stanley one in the 'Canterbury Pitt table restoration' thread in the CP section (not sure how to add a reference number).
Kind regards,
Peter

Hi Peter, many thanks for the info, I'll look for the restoration thread. did you have any luck tracking one down for yourself? As I have found a smaller version, but no luck on this longer version yet! Thanks again Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Yes I did thanks. The pic mentioned above compares the original bracket I had to the one I tracked down in the USA via ebay (UK). As you'll see it's pretty much the same, just a bit narrower and I think the mounting holes don't quite match the originals due to the slightly different mounting bracket shape. If you have a look on ebay they are often listed as drop leaf table supports or something similar. When I got mine I double checked with the seller what the actual length was before ordering as quoted lengths can be confusing. I've just had a look and you might like to check out item number 262569262072.
Kind regards,
Peter

Hi Peter Thanks for the ebay link, yes its funny how most people list the length with the end flaps out flat and not the pivot distance. I have found and ordered a batch of the new ones from the US, which you'd mentioned, so at least we can offer those on our Camper Interiors website, knowing we can order more as and when/if needed! Thanks again for your help. Kevin
