Westy awning extending poles to hold up the front

If you're the sort of perso who thinks that Westfalias are nice, you might want to pop inside.

Westy awning extending poles to hold up the front

Post by BJ1 » Fri Feb 06, 2015 6:14 pm

I've just reproduced one of these for a friend and made a couple of extra poles as I had to buy more steel than I needed. These are the steel extendable poles that hold up the front flap of the large awning like this.
Image
They are correct in every detail, including the weirdly large wing nuts.
I would like £25 each for them (£50 pair) but may not be able to post them as they are 4' 6" long. If I can find a courier I expect the shipping to be around £10 for a pair. Can get them to Dubfreeze. I can make some more if anyone needs them.
Pm me if interested.

Spare set are sold and another set being made this week for someone else.
I'm not planning to go into production of these as I haven't the time, but I can get more made locally if anyone wants some.

Thanks Sean and Simon - glad you like them! See you at the Farm :)

I have two pairs left if anyone else would like some.

I'll look into making some privy poles for the AGM.

All the best

Hi Brian thanks very much from me as well the poles are great , you said you can make privy tent poles as well , and is it possible to make this pole , number 18 on the list it holds up the front and stops it sagging . PS Shaun wants one as well.
Thanks again Simon

Hi Simon
Yes providing I can find some swaged poles at a sensible price I can make No 18 for you guys - most of them have an alloy centre piece which was Westfalia's token gesture towards saving weight. There is a firm in Cheshire who will make the swaged poles for me so I'm waiting for a price. I note that on these pics the extension poles have clamp - type locking levers which appear on the later poles. So far as I know the lever clamps are nla. Earlier poles have the big wing nuts like those on the poles I make.

OK chaps and lassies, by popular request I've made some more of these poles. They work as privy tent uprights and/or poles to hold the front out. I can also supply piece 18 if someone will send me the measurement across the front of the tent. I'll be bringing some poles to Busfest so get your orders in asap please. £25 each pole. I note that originals are selling for over £500 a pair 8O so mine are pretty competitive ;)

Very likely I can make them Graham, but I'll need a pattern to work from.
