Spaceway whale pump and tank ?

Post by Fuch77 » Mon Mar 12, 2018 4:59 pm

Hello all.
Can anyone show me a photo of the inside of the right hand cupboard of a spaceway cooker please?
That is where the water tank would be right?
Advice please.

I only have a couple of old photos to hand at the moment of the pump.
Never taken the tank out to see how it attaches.
I have seen a few different configurations of the tap/pump/tank tho. not 100% but I think some are plastic containers in the rh cupboard. mine is a 66

Somewhere in the back of my head I’ve got a feeling that 66 were like this and then 67 had a plastic bottle / tank which could be removed for filling?

There’s some old spaceway reference threads from BJ1 which will have details of you search back through I think?

That info is great gents thanks.
I thought i had fitted the wrong pump to my 67.. but seeing that maybe not.
Do you think my tap could be bent as i do not have enough clearance for even a shot glass?

I tried searching and maybe the photos no longer exist?
I have had success in the past using quote '' and then hacking the link details to go to the photobucket page and find the pictures..

Good advice G thanks .
I think my tap must have been cut down maybe. You guys think it can be bent up a bit without snapping it?
As for a water tank i think i may just put a bottle of brandy in there n be done with it !

I believe the spout is thin wall alloy pipe and could be bent.
The risk of bending thin wall is that if flattens and splits.. Hence for bending copper pipe internal spring used to prevent collapse.
Alloy can be harder so risks splitting.
I have not played with mine...

I would want to take the spout out ..get a suitable interior spring for pipe bending and gently persuade each of the bends back to the shape you require.
But internal spring for 15mm pipe is smallest I am aware of.
In the smaller sizes go to external sping.

Tube dims are external
Pipe dims are internal.

See Hamilton gas, they do an external one for 8mm
B&Q do one said to be 10mm..

Not sure of dims of spout.

If Big al can post up or send a trace of the profile..
