Another unit needing identification ;)

So you Devon perverts, it's finally here - the Devon specific forum - and it's in a whole new interiors section :-)

Hi Russ.

Just remember to double check the bench seats and the cookerwardrobe width match the width of your bus. The units I replicated mine from were slightly too long, so had to make adjustments accordingly.

Will try and email you some more pics of the build.
(No luck with the Formica yet but will keep looking).

Well.. early on Devon made interiors for customer's buses..
Their first brochure 1956 1957 shows a barndoor bus built a few years before.
Early years customers could take their buses to be converted.
It is recorded that US airmen could order a bare bus from VW and collect it from the factory. They could order LHD Westy conversions too and have them shipped home.
Several US (Senior officers?) bought LHD buses drove them in Germany drove them to UK and then had them converted by Devon and shipped back to USA.
Known early example A67MAN 1958 LHD mk111 Caravette.
Rippers managed fo find on eBay UK a LHD 1964 interior which was for sale because the owner had bought it by mistake believing it to be RHD.

I will send by PM links n pictures.

The brochures are on the top of the Interiors / Devon stream.
I THINK I have every brochure bar one which is for the Mk111 with a spelling mistake! LOL. I have the corrected version..

Rippers has a thread about his interior..

He has not fitted it to his bus BUT is going to start soon...

Hiya Jim, I hope your well!

That’s a very good point haha, I bet that was frustrating having to make adjustments.
Still, your interior looks amazing. If mines half as good as yours I will be a happy man.

Yeah please do email me any pics you have of the build as it will be very handy and no problem about the Formica. I appreciate you keeping an eye out for me.

Cheers
Russ
