So you Devon perverts, it's finally here - the Devon specific forum - and it's in a whole new interiors section :-)

Wanted: Devon sink unit (next to bench seat)

Post by paul_f » Sun Oct 08, 2017 3:23 pm

I am after a Devon sink unit to go with my early interior (that currently has a bad homemade cupboard).

Anyone got one for sale?

EDITED 1960/2 type with cut out.. Kevin has one in his 1962..
1962/3 has a drop down flap

I have given my 62/3 with drop down flap to Kevin Jackson to use as templates and to use as a mould for making copies of the sink in fibreglass..
He has already made copies of the lid and drop down flap for.. a forum member

What was the point of the cut out?
Supplying quality in house designed items plus parts from SCAT, Kennedy Clutches, CB Performance & FIRETEC. Also fitting service including modifications & mechanical upgrades.

There was a thread about this before Jim.. I was enquiring about my late model sink..

viewtopic.php?f=46&t=59246 also

I think we established between 1960 and 1962 for your early style..
But not 100% we ever bottomed this..
Will study the brochures and dates but this may prefer introduction..
G

Did you ever sort out gas tap..
Yours should be a chromed one which came out of the units perpendicular the surface not at 90 degrees.
Madison has/ had one from John Connolley's 1960/1 bus on his tall cupboard..

What should the sink look like in the 60/62? Does anyone have a source for these as mine has something different fitted. Same question re pump but I'm guessing if Jim is looking then they're not common...
And back to the original question- does anyone have one of these for sale (I don't need another just steering topic back on track)

Cheers. Dave

I think initially it was just an easy structure but later fitted a flap to make it more a piece of furniture.

These two are mine

I only need the right hand one but have resisted selling the other until I'd finished my interior rebuild, to make sure I had all the parts I needed

I've currently given my two cooker cupboards to Kevin Jackson to work them both up, so if that turns out well I'll probably send him the sinks next and therefore would be ready to sell the second

For what it's worth I bought the left hand one for £300 about 4-5 years ago, the one on the right I drove to Cornwall and bought an £800 mismatched Spaceway interior to get it. I've seen one other for sale in the last 6 years at £300-400 I seem to remember? So that should give you a rough idea of what to expect if you find one elsewhere

...either that or I've created my own micro-market for things only I am buying lol

I think you have invested well..
I have visited Kevin to commission him to make pieces for me on a couple of occasions..
He has remade my high level shelf and restored my seat back.. wash flap next...

Devonette cooker case made..
onto small door table after that.
I have given Kevin my later unit to template.. and he has made some items already
Kevin is multi talented..
