Text from Facebook post (not me)
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Kevin Jackson . I am based in Staffordshire, West Midlands. I have decided to diversify my workshop to make reproduction Devon Camping interiors from the late 1950s to the late 1960s.
I have over 30 years of experience in furniture making using exotic woods and veneers for house/ shop/ bar fittings and bespoke kitchens. I have been interested in VW's, and especially interested in Devon Interiors, for a number of years. I started out by making a period Devon Interior for my Devon Early Bay camper.

I have found a passion for making authentic Devon pieces/ interiors. I can offer a service to make either individual pieces (to replace missing items to complete your interior) or complete RHD or LHD interior to match the year of your bus. I can also offer a restoring service to your original interior or damaged items.

All of my work is handmade and finished by myself.
Below are some examples of the latest 1966 interior I have recently finished to fit in my 1966 Split Screen.

I have collected original examples of furniture pieces which represent the changes over the Devon model years and I can make period matching items from these. I have spent a long while attempting to source either original or close fittings to replicate the look and feel of the original Devon fittings. All units are made using solid oak frames and are hand veneered with the correct quarter sawn oak veneers before being hand finished. I follow the original construction methods...with a little improvement.

I have made examples of the following:
Magazine Racks
Dinette Tables
Wash Flaps
Crockery Cupboards
Bathroom Cupboards
Tall Wardrobe
Front Seats
Rear Seats
Cooker Cupboard
Rear Drawers
Rear Cupboards
Large Table holders and Large Tables.

All items are made to order.

As an indication to cost I propose to supply an interior package consisting of:

Tall Cupboard,
Front Seat
Magazine Rack and Table Support
Dinette Table and leg
Rear seat
Cooker cupboard
Rear Large Table Holder
Rear Large Table

Starting price from £3500.00 (Supply Only)

Also available - Year/Finish as desired:
Crockery Cupboard
Wash Flap
Cross Vehicle Leg Cupboard
Rear drawers (wide or narrow hatch)
Rear Cupboards as appropriate
(Prices on request.)

Fitting services also available.

Please feel free to contact me via email (kevin.jackson95@hotmail.co.uk) for any further information.

I have been to see these pieces and the quality, finish and colour of the pieces is excellent. These are hand veneered in medullary oak veneers hand cut, matched and glued. The lacquer finish is very much like Devon originals in colour and subtle gloss level
I cannot wait for my pieces to be made!

LOL
I first came across Kevin when he wanted some door buffers. I bought a bulk load to reduce the excessive import duty n shipping costs and sold a reasonably large quantity to Kevin..which gave me the idea he might be making pieces.
I offered to provide some pieces that I have collected over the years for him to see and take measurements, So I was curious to see what and how he was making pieces.
To say I am impressed is an understatement! He has collected a large number of original pieces to examine construction and make templates from.
As we all know these interiors evolved over time and Kevin wants to be able to make exact copies to be able to make that missing piece or a date correct complete suite.
I have commissioned Kevin to make some pieces for me!

I will ask Kevin if he wishes his pictures from his original gacebook post adding here for those who do not use fb..

Kevin has posted some more pictures of a 1966 Devon Torvette Spaceway interior he has restored and a sympathetic Easicool cupboard he has made to meet the owner's requirements..
Really nice restoration involving refinishing most of the existing structure but replacing the laminated doors and reveneering areas to customer request..
Will match the top class body restoration underway.
I saw the interior before photos...quite a task to make it look this good.

I borrowed a 1963 crockery cupboard from etiennevert (Steve Green) to copy and template. I asked Kevin Jackson to measure it all up and make templates in order to make a period correct piece for my 1962 Devonette.
Once he had done this, to say thanks I asked Kevin to refit the missing slider (which Steve had now found) to the upper flap and refinish the outside laquer for me.
I returned the restored piece to Steve Green and he was more than chuffed and he has now fitted it to his van.
I will post before and after pictures.
