the anatomy of a Devon interior…

So you Devon perverts, it's finally here - the Devon specific forum - and it's in a whole new interiors section :-)

not strictly true…it changed mid 64, post this change there was a whale tap in the bulkhead seat and an appropriate cut out for the tap to exit, pre change there wasn't :P
Ah yes of course, thanks for out-geeking me ;)

I was going to use the bulkhead slider as an example. Structurally consistent but the formica colours changed.

Can't think of anything else that is the same throughout, but the point about convergence is still broadly valid I think?

Hi Chris
You bought anything yet
Still worried that what you showed me was narrow hatch drawers but you need wide hatch drawers...

True but the advertised ones were narrow in a narrow and Chris is already worried about how to fit without more work in extending.. talking of extending..

What month 64 to compare with what month 64 for passion4 bus?
Early 64 on the cusp..
Double cupboards too..
Nice Maddy..

think my rear drawers where on the crossover to large hatch, one of the 1st interiors made for the large hatch in fact (some of the panels have 'show' written on them, so presume for demonstrator at motor show possibly)

Devon obviously still have some small hatch drawers left over and used them , its the only rear drawers I have ever seen like tis, using small hatch drawers in a large hatch frame

Late 63 early 64 Devonette rear cupboards that is....
The 1962 Devonette had a tall side cupboard hanger on the NS.
The 1963 Devonette had a cupboard across the corner on the NS and a cupboard like the design used again in 1967...on the OS
The 1964 Devonette (WAR 201 for example) had the double cupboards both sides...

Motor show October 1963 interior I would say!

You could fit narrow hatch drawers to a wide hatch bus. You would need to make blanking plates for the sides like Maddy's has to the left. You would need to modify the frame to make the side supports sloping so that the blanking plates sloped like Maddy's does.

The face plate could be made to match the face of the drawers...
