weddings.and no children

Post by dombutler » Thu Aug 02, 2012 3:45 pm

What is it with people not allowing children to weddings?

My wife got a cousin that says no kids allowed to wedding?

That is just wrong. Love or hate kids, but a wedding is a family affair. Family.
Some family members have boycotted the ceremony.

I know that a few on here do weddings with their busses, and would pobally like no jammy fingers on their upholstery!!

There is a limit!!

Rant over.

Cheers,
Dom.

I have often vented the same feelings....I tell people if they invite me with "no kids" on the invite then they don't know me well enough. I'm happy for them to have "no kids" just don't invite me!

My mate Ryan was getting married, I was the best man.

Got the invite. SORRY BUT NO UNDER 18's.

At the time Milla was 3 and Finnley was 4 months so still breast feeding.

I had to go to the wedding and the wife had to stay at home with kids.

Wasn't enjoyable as the wife was good friends with them also. A lot of people didn't turn up, so we all asked why.

Didn't want kids running about, crying etc.... As they weren't parents we explained that there are ways of dealing with things kids present at you. But no.

Since that they now have twins.

Oh and I do loads of weddings and kids climb all over my bus! Makes for good photo's!!

My brothers wedding was no kids. We thought fare enough its there day etc .
But I asked him why? The reception and meal was in a very exclusive manor house that seated only 60 guests cost was £250 a head so there choise was invite 60 of their friends or 30 and 30 kids who would not appriciate the food wine accommodation etc. I kind of see his point .

This is the reason more often than people think.

Three of my friends had to make similar decisions recently. Loads of kicking off about why children weren't allowed blah blah blah but when a four year old child is going to cost them around £90 per child and limit adult numbers etc etc its the only decision to make. Some allowances were made for family members children, flower girls, page boys but its just the way it is sometimes.
