No Split screens

Post by Iroc-2 » Mon Aug 29, 2016 6:22 pm

Just came back from Newquay today after spending three lovely days there. Where are all the split screens? Didn't see one the whole time I was there. I was expecting to see loads, going by the last time I was there 10 years ago. The whole time I was there I saw, 3 bays 5 t25 and umpteen t4 & t5s.Quite disappointed :( :(

Yeah, just spent 2 weeks in Devon/Cornwall, saw 3 splits, half a dozen bays and quite a few T25s, T4 and T5s. I was expecting to see loads. Quite surprised really!!!

We were in Newquay on Thursday! Spent 20th to 27th in Cornwall, stayed near st Austell, put in appearances at Boscastle, looe, Truro, lands end, mousehole, mevagissy and Newquay amongst others, saw one other split. In the services on the m42 coming home! Saw a couple of nice bays and a few 25's, mostly t4's and t5's though, roughly 75% of which are driven by water cooled snobs it seems, no wave returned, miserable gits.
The locals were all pleased to see we made it though.

Split screens are notoriously unreliable, always breaking down, go far to slowly, are completely overpriced, and old fashioned......

;)

A T4 / T5 is far more practical.

Too many Splits parked up on showgrounds or at churches, rather than out and about.

We don't expect to see many while we're on the road trip.

That I can forgive, it's the ones that don't come out unless it's 110% guaranteed not to rain and there's not even a chance of a small cloud in the sky. What a waste.
Or even worse, they go everywhere by trailer

We had three sunny days there so no excuse about it raining. On a trip out my wife and I always play a game of spot the campervan, you know you see the back of a campervan in the distance on the motorway, and then spend the next half an hour trying to catch it up, hoping to start a small convoy. I think it ended up three two. When we arrived I strained every muscle in my neck looking in every driveway, parked up on Fistal beach, none. :(

Spent a week in and around Padstow , saw 1 split, hoped to have seen loads but no, next year we'll be there in ours- some long winter evenings coming on......

We play a game with the kids rules as follow, first one to spot -
A splitscreen 3 point
A bay 1 point
If either are broken down or on a recovery truck it's worth triple points

Keeps them amused and as I driving I see them first so usually win
